Understanding Weight, Dimension, and Volume Fields in Yojee

Gain a deeper understanding of how to manage weight, dimension, and volume data within Yojee. The Order Template lets you input total weights and volumes, as well as individual item weights and dimensions.

Order Template Fields: Overview and Setup

Enabling Weight, Dimension, and Volume Fields

To use weight, dimension, and volume fields, enable them in the Order Template via the Manage section. Learn how to set up Order Templates here.

In the Lines section of the Order Template, you can add the following fields:

  • Item Volume
  • Item Weight
  • LxWxH (Length, Width, Height)
  • Total Volume
  • Total Weight

These fields are optional but can interact with each other depending on the information provided.

Field Interactions and Calculations

Item-Level Fields: Weight, Dimensions, and Volume

  • LxWxH: Represents the item’s dimensions (length, width, height). No automatic calculation occurs; user input is required.
  • Item Volume: Automatically calculated if the LxWxH fields are populated. Alternatively, it can be manually entered to override calculated values.
  • Item Weight: Requires manual input and does not auto-calculate.

Order-Level Fields: Total Weight and Volume

  • Total Weight: Calculated by multiplying the Item Weight by the Number of Items in the line item. You can override this with manual input.
  • Total Volume: Calculated by multiplying the Item Volume by the Number of Items in the line item. You can override this with manual input.

Example:
If an item has:

  • Item Weight: 50kg
  • Item Volume: 2m³
  • Quantity: 3 items

Then, the Total Weight = 150kg, and Total Volume = 6m³.

Where to Find Weight and Volume Data

Yojee displays order weight and volume data in multiple areas for seamless order management:

1. Order Page

  • Total Weight and Total Volume are displayed at the top of each line item after an order is created.

2. Driver App

  • Item Weight and Item Volume are visible on the Task Summary Screen for easy reference by drivers.

3. Transport Orders Page

  • The Total Weight and Total Volume for the entire order can be displayed by adding these columns.

4. Reports

  • Orders Report: Displays total weight and volume for orders.
  • Order Items Report: Shows item-level weight, dimensions, and volume.
  • Driver Activity Report: Displays item-level weight, dimensions, and volume.

Key Takeaways

  • LxWxH values automatically calculate Item Volume unless overridden.
  • Total Weight and Total Volume depend on the number of items and can be manually overridden.
  • Weight and volume fields improve operational clarity across the Yojee platform, enhancing driver and back-office workflows.
