Load lists and manifests: use the driver app instead
The driver app is the load list. Here is how it works, and what to do if you still need paper.
Looking for a way to print a load list, run sheet or manifest in TCMS? You do not need one. The Yojee TCMS driver app is the load list. The driver sees every order assigned to them, works through the tasks one at a time, and each action updates TCMS as it happens.
This article covers what the driver sees, how the run is worked, what dispatch sees in return, and how to get a printed list if you still need one.
Why the app replaces the printed sheet
A printed load list is accurate for about five minutes. The moment an order is added, cancelled, reassigned or resequenced, the paper is wrong and nobody in the depot knows.
The driver app has no such gap:
- The task list updates when dispatch changes the run.
- Each completion, exception and signature lands in TCMS in real time.
- Dispatch and customer service see the same status the driver just set, without a phone call.
What the driver sees
The driver signs in and lands on their task list. Each entry is a pickup or a dropoff task, with the address, the time window and the order details.
Drivers can choose how the list is organised:
- Select the profile icon in the top right.
- Select Settings.
- Select Task list by.
- Choose Commit Date, Assigned Date, or All assigned Tasks.
- Select the back arrow to return to the task list.
In Commit Date or Assigned Date view, selecting the calendar shows the dates with outstanding tasks. In All assigned Tasks view, the toggle shows tasks assigned for future days.
How a driver works a run
- Accept the work. Assigned or broadcast task groups are accepted in the app, unless your account is set to auto accept.
- Open the next task. The driver works the list in order rather than reading across a page.
- Action it. Depending on your driver workflow setup, the app records the start, arrival, completion and departure of each task, along with the quantity completed, driver notes, a signature, and an exception reason if the job cannot be done.
- Move on. The completed task drops off the list and the next one is ready.
What dispatch sees
Every action the driver takes flows straight back into TCMS:
- Transport Orders shows the current status of each order and item.
- Task times are captured: assigned, start, arrival, completion and departure, plus geofence arrival and departure and dwell time where geofencing is in use.
- Exceptions and driver notes appear against the task, so a failed delivery is visible without a call.
- Proof of delivery is available from Transport Orders. Select the orders, then Documents > POD - Proof of Delivery.
Verify it worked
Ask a driver to complete one task, then refresh Transport Orders. The item status and completion time should update within seconds, and the POD should be available for download.
Control what the driver sees on each orderYou choose which order details appear on the driver's order card. Go to Manage > Drivers > Driver Workflow.
- Default task list sets the view new drivers start with.
- Mobile App Order Info Configuration sets each row on the order card. Options are Container #, Waybill, Contact, Drop Mode, Total Weight & Volume, your four order custom fields, or Blank.
- Driver License required controls whether a licence must be recorded against the driver.
- Gate Pass sets the reference and type used for gate pass handling.
Tip: put the reference your drivers and sites actually call out, usually the waybill or a customer reference, in Row 1.
If you still need a printed list
Use the Driver Activity Report. It gives you the same information as an old load list, in a spreadsheet you can print.
- Go to Reports > Driver Activity Report.
- Set the date range, then filter by driver or driver tag, and by task type.
- Open Columns and tick what you need, for example driver name, vehicle plate, address, task type, item quantity, weight and waybill.
- Select Export and choose XLSX or CSV.
Two things worth knowing:
- Save your column selection as a preset so it is one click next time.
- The Export dialog can email the report on a schedule, so dispatch receives the list each morning without opening TCMS.
- Exports are capped at 10,000 rows, so narrow the date range or the driver filter for large operations.
Still need paper signed at the door?
The Driver Activity Report is a spreadsheet, so it has no signature block. If a site or customer requires a physically signed sheet, raise it with your Customer Success Manager so we can look at the right option for that lane.
