Filling in many orders into Yojee with a single action, by uploading an Excel or CSV file
A dispatcher can perform Batch Uploading in 3 simple steps
- Download template from the dispatcher user interface
- Create the batch upload file using the downloaded template
- Upload the batch upload file & fill in other details
STEP 1: Download Template from the Dispatcher User Interface
a) From the Orders tab, click the Batch Upload button.
b) In the pop up dialog, you can choose one of four options:
- Single leg XLSX format
- Single leg CSV format
- Multiple legs XLSX format
- Multiple legs CSV format
Single leg / multiple legs: The default to use is Single leg. If you're trying to arrange for a single item to undergo more than one set of pickup and drop off tasks, and the details of this routing is decided outside of Yojee, use the multiple legs format.
XLSX / CSV: If you can open XLSX files on your computer using Microsoft Excel or any other compatible spreadsheet applications, choose XLSX. Alternatively choose CSV which can be opened by almost any spreadsheet softwares.
CAUTION
If you use Excel software to open the CSV template, the file still works normally. You might however face some date formatting issues below:
- Data like date time will be auto-formatted based on Excel settings. Example: 20/10/2018 will change to 2018-10-20 on some Excel softwares.
- Data like postal code will be auto-formatted based on Excel settings. Example: 068408 will change to 68408 based on some Excel settings
STEP 2: Create the Batch Upload File Using the Downloaded Template
Note
To ensure the Batch Upload file uploads according to your expectation, it is useful to understand the Yojee concept of an order item.
For both XLSX and CSV format, the template always includes two rows of headers (main header and sub header) and one row of sample content.
- Both rows of headers are required for batch upload
- Sample content should be deleted and replaced with actual data to be uploaded
Warning
When saving CSV files, note that only UTF-8 encoding is supported for batch upload files. For more information, read this article.

STEP 3. Upload the Batch Upload File & Fill in other details
How to upload
a) In the Batch Upload popup, you can drag your file or click to upload file.
b) Fill in other details like "Corporate", "Corporate User", "External Order ID"
c) Click "Save Order". The system will start validating the file. There will be 2 scenarios.
- Scenario 1: If the file has enough information to assign to driver, system will proceed with creating an order and status as “Accepted”. No other action required.
- Scenario 2: If the file does NOT have enough information to assign to driver, system will display the options below:
- You can choose to fix the issues offline by clicking “Cancel”.
- You can continue the upload process and fix the issues in the system later by clicking “Continue and Fix later”. Items that have missing information will be labelled as “Missing Info”. It is not possible to assign these items to any driver until the mandatory information is filled.

1. How can I understand the cause of my upload errors?

2. I have checked and used the correct format. Why are there still errors?
In rare cases, due to encoding issue that is specific to keyboard, software from user side, the value doesn’t match with our encoding system which is UTF-8. In that case, please try to use XLSX or contact our customer service for support.
